Government Pushes Combines Undergraduate-Master's Programs
Universities will be able to form academic courses that allow students to finish their bachelor and master's degrees in five years, rather than the separate four-year bachelor, two-year master's programs that have been the norm. Medical and architecture students, who needed six and five years, respectively, to finish their undergraduate work, will be able to complete their undergraduate and master's work in seven and six years, respectively. Up till now, only master's-doctorate programs could be combined.
