does anyone here use kangnam cable as a provider?
the last few times i've turned off my computer for more than 8 hours i've had to renew my IP address. is this normal?
i figure i'd ask a few more experienced people here first before going through the ordeal of having to explain it to my support staff at work and then having them interpret. i rarely get answers that way. |

You probably need to make sure you have 'dynamic IP address' selected somewhere in your settings, but I'm not a Kangnam subscriber so don't know how to help you. |

Yep - been having this problem since around Christmas time. Kangnam cable has been round 2 or 3 times and each time the technician says there's not problem with the modem, the adaptor, the connection or the cable service...it's totally the fault of my computer. (of course...)
The problem I have is that re-setting the IP address doesn't *always* work, and I am internet-less for hours until it will work, and sometimes it goes down even while I am online, and I have to restart PC and then reset IP address.
Again, the tecchie says it as nothing to to with KNC, but totally my own fault. So, there's NOTHING that I can do but live with it

I use Kangnam cable. I had problems when I turned off the modem along with the computer. It would take 10 minutes, sometimes an hour or two to get on-line. The problem always turned out to be with the IP address. Now, i turn off the computer but leave the modem on all the time, and I have not had any problems with them. |
