Call this company called Eagle: 02-729-4738
A person named Tony there speaks english.
You get 540 minutes (9 hours) for 40,000 won. You can pay by credit card over the phone or in cash at their office. If you call them again, they give you a 10% discount so you get 9 hours to canada for 36000 won which is the cheapest I have found. Of course, you can also get less hours on your card. They give you a pin that you can use from wherever to call Canada.
Hope that helps. |

The cards I use are called i2Line and I pay 15,000 Won and get 353 minutes. (42 won/minute I think). The phone # is 042-623-3263, 3314 or handphone # 016-478-3658 if you are interested. I live in Daejeon and my boss gets them from this guy who drops them off but I think you can also do bank transfers to buy them and he can give the access codes over the phone. |

If I use the toll-free number on my long distance calling card with my cell phone, am I using my prepaid local talk time as well, or am I ONLY using up the LD phone card time? |

At that price, you're probably not dialing a toll free number. If you are, that's a great deal. My friends couldn't believe how cheap it is in Korea when I told them I was paying 70 won per minute to call them. Makes you wonder how much money the phone companies are making back home. |

Now you have me wondering. Just curious what's the difference if I am or am not using a toll free #? If I'm not I think maybe I'd be getting charged more through my regular bill is that correct? I think I am though, I dial 080-368-0077 first, than 2 for english, the pin # than my destination #. Anyone know if that is toll free?
First 2 months I was here I was calling Canada straight through, 1.49 a minute, ahhhh wish I would have known that at the time haha.
I see now above someone says 080 is toll free so should be ok than? |

If it is really completely 100% toll free, then it's WAY cheaper to phone around the world than it is to phone within Korea on a cell. If so, I'm gonna try using my phone card to call locally. I'll experiment with checking my balance, using the LD card on my cell phone, then checking the balance again. Worth knowing, eh? |
