I am moving to Suwon next weekend.

I have myself a new job starting in March.

What is it like? I like to go out for a drink or two and was wondering what the night life is like down there.

Anyone like living in Suwon?

I worked and lived in Suwon my first year here. I think its a great city, lots of things to do, places to go, tons of foriegners and close enough to Seoul to make it easy to visit.

Youngtong-dong is where alot of foreigners work and live.

Nahmoon is a great area too.

Tons of bars and clubs as well for the party animal.

I'm still yet to meet a single westerner outside work here. It'd be great to find a busy bar in south/west Suwon at some point :/

Still, there's plenty of other stuff to do, it's pretty convenient for Seoul but seems rather cheaper, and I'd rather go jogging here than there.

On a side note...are there any good bike paths down in Suwon?

Anyone have any good suggestions to go for a beer? I move into my new place on the 26th of Feb so I am thinking that after I have unpacked I am going to head out and scope places out.

Suwon Station is a pretty busy area and a good central location. I live about 10 minutes away by Seryu Station. Nammun has some good hip hop clubs and half the time you'll be the only foreigner and the place will be packed. Ingadong has lots of bars, love hotels, and a couple korean style night clubs and is a super busy area. Ajou University is a pretty fun student area. Yongton has one foreigner dive that people call "the pool bar"...but you can play free pool so it's alright now and again (but that's if you're really in a bind for things to do). I'm not too sure about the biking but if you ask capt. porridge on the other board I'm sure he'll know cuz he bikes around a lot. Overall, Suwon seems to be a little chiller, little less polluted, and a little friendlier than Seoul...but close enough so that you can go to Seoul multiple times a week if you want.

Hey Chewbacca,

I might be up for some poker. I am moving to Sanbon, which is pretty close to Suwon, the same day you are. We can try to get a game together at some point. I'm sure there are interested folks.

Oh hell yeah!...Where I am at the moment, the boys and I play nearly once a week. Nothing too hard core, but I have a nice big round table where we play assorted betting games, listening to some good tunes and eat snacks and drink whatever is on hand......what school are you working at in Sanbon, I use to live there mysel!!

Did you score that Univ. job in Suwon that came available today?

Was asked if I was interested in applying. If I hadn't signed already with my school, I definately would have!

Sounds cool Chewy,

I am going to be working at ShinHeung Elementary school. What did you think of Sanbon? I think it looks like a really nice, new place. My apartment is in a great location too, about a minute from Sanbon Station.

Yeah....I used to live in 'The Square' right next next to E-mart and a minute walk to the station. I loved it down there. I worked for a hogwan which was ok. Given the opportunity I would live in Sanbon again in a flash. Good place.
