Most cities in N.A. (sorry, can't speak for other countries) have these kinda restaurants, where you stack up a bowl with a buncha meat and veggies, throw some sauces in, and get it all stir-fried up with noodles... They're often called "Mongolie Grill" or "Mongolian Barbeque" or whatever, but it's basically just a make-your-own stirfry. (I dunno, I never saw any food remotely like that when I was in Mongolia, though I could be wrong..)
ANYWAYS- there's a place in the basement food court at Samsung Millennium Tower on Chongno (the big glass thing with the raised top floor), called "Grill and Stick", which is basically the same thing... Pork, chicken, beef, a bunch of veggies, and about 5-6 different sauces (soy, garlic, lemon, bbq, spicy....no black bean, though )... Lots of people (myself included) just get a bit of each sauce thrown in there- just say "modeum"... Tasty!
It's still not quite the same as the ones at home, but pretty close, and at about 5500 won, it's a great price. Beats the hell outta a BigMac meal, IMHO.
Oh yeah, and none of my friends or I own the place- not an advertisement! |
