I was wondering if anyone could give me the heads up on storgae space here in Korea. I'm thinking of leaving for a couple of weeks to a month and then coming back. Does anyone know a reliable place I can rent space (dry, secure, etc.)? How much will it set me back?

Thanks.

Every few months or month someone asks the board. I've asked twice myself. Moving company. Last time my boss phoned around town to get a rate on storage per month. Moving company picked it up in a truck. Paid a deposit. And the tallied up per month rate back. Then they drove it in a truck to the next job town.
They move the boxes around as they repack the warehouse. Have to get at some lot that isn't mine. My pile of boxes is moved. They'll restack them then. So the box that was heavy so you put it at the bottom might end up on top of the box containing the lamp.
That was when I used apple boxes. I've since made plywood boxes.

Once I left a few boxes with somebody in their house, and a few more with somebody else. I like just taking off. Might be gone a month, two, three, dunno, see how it goes. Then leaving boxes with people puts them out. You know how small Korean places are. They're walking around a totem of my stupid boxes.

I have a spare room. Rates are negotiable.

Rent a goshiwon for 60-70,000/mnth and stick it all in there. Maybe lower depending on the place.

Actually, I've never used a goshiwon for storage, just living. I was paying 200,000/mnth at my last place, but I know that some of the rooms around me were being used for storage. I never talked to the owner about the rate, but I know Koreans who have thrown stuff into places for a month, in the 60-70,000 range.

You can find all sorts of goshiwons, at different costs, at http://www.gosi1.net/

And as you will not be using any services that come with the avg goshiwon (electricity, cable, kitchen, free rice, shower, washer, soap and toiletries), you can knock down the rate.

Does anyone know roughly what getting say 3 largish boxes stored would be a month with a removal company? Anyone happen to know any other storage possibilities. I'm planning on leaving to go home and maybe on travels for a while and don't really want to ship my stuff home as I am definitely comming back at some point but it might not be for 2-3 months....
