You can't upgrade to a better graphics card on that model.
Look for one that has a mobile ATI 9600 or better. |

Why buy Sony or Toshiba or Samsung or Apple or TG or Panasonic or.....
Is there something you're not telling me or is it some sort of crytic message like 'the owls hoot under the blood red moon'.? Reasons, cheap for what you get. If you have any other suggestions I'm open to them. However because I have just purchased a house, beggers can't be chosers. Value for money wise, Dells seem sound enough. |

It was just a question. Relax.
You can build for less without the scalping that Dell tends to give. Sure, the systems are cheap, but you are basically buying into a no-upgrade deal.....usually. |

No upgrade is a bummer, however for the medium term it's all I need. Any deals you know out there in Korea for a similiar price.
Thanks |

You could build.
What is the model and/or specs of the machine? I could quickly price one out for you....if you are in Korea. What do you want to do with the machine? I mean...games, internet, Word.... |

Bugs me that Dell even bothers to ship a product with only 256k of Ram in it.
In my opinion, you need a minimum of 512k. |

I have a Dell Lattitude D600 and everything is running smoothly so far.
However, I did have a problem with the Resolution on the screen. I am too tired right now to explain the problem, so you should get onto Dells Homepage and search their forums. They talk about it in detail there. \
Oh yeah... Upgrade your HD to 80GB, it will be worth it in the long run. |

Dude, I was half joking. I didn't realize the OP was about a notebook. I just saw "Dell" and reacted, as their desktop systems are no real deal compared to building.
However, buying laptop parts is no big deal at all...hard drives, optical drives, CPUs, graphics, cards of all kinds...it all can be bought, displays as well. Probably one could even get a case if one were so inclined.
What one would do with all the parts is another question, but they all can be bought.
Here, for example. |

Ok Derrek....I gave you a day to fix this before I quoted it. You didn't, so I guess it's fair game. Great little blunder though...reminds me of Bill Gates' famous quote! |
