I'm hoping that maybe some of the parents on here can tell me where I can get my hands on gripe water here in seoul. My little guy has colic, and its getting a tad frustrating, gripe water is a herbal liquid which helps them relieve gas and ease the pain. If anyone knows I'd really appreciate the input. I have some coming in the mail, but don't think I can wait that long for it. Thanks.

They use barley tea for that in Korea. You can buy packets to make barley tea just for kids at any convenience store or supermarket. You can use barley tea instead of water when you prepare the milk formula.

The site I looked at says that "Gripe Water" contains fennel and ginger. Maybe you could make up your own batch? Good luck! And I hope you get some sleep!

Have you tried looking for Ovol or other gas drops? Gripe Water is not as commonly used thesedays. I would also suggest reading The Happiest Baby on the Block. The techniques for handling colic (shushing, swaddling, swinging, side lying, and sucking ) have really helped my baby calm down during a crying jag.

Run your vaccum cleaner or simular appliance.

The vibrations / subsonics help.

In regards to the barley tea. You don't need to be feeding him formula. We have used it instead of water and have done so since he was an infant. Never had a problem with colic and he has in the most part been as fit as a fiddle. Try it. He may not like the taste at first but will soon adapt. Found in every supermarket in Korea. Make sure you buy the baby version.

Thanks guys, I really appreciate it, I myself don't think he has colic thats just our doctors diagnosis, from what I've read about it it would be pretty much constant, but last night I gave him so gas drops and he was great, slept 6hrs straight. So we'll see........but again thanks for all the advice will go get some of that barley water today. Very Happy I actually found an mp3 online which is soothing sounds for a baby, and yeah it sounds just like a vaccum cleaner or something. Five minutes of listening to that and he was out like a light. Its fantastic!

Don't have to mix it with formula, though. You can feed him the tea by itself. Just boil a kettle of water and add one of the packets for 5 t o10 minutes.

You can always go to a Korean pediatrist (pediatrician). I'm sure they known of a Korean product that will do the work.

By the way, I know it's hard to tell by that picture, but I get the impression he's tall for 8 weeks.
