Im studying this structure in Korean at the moment.I would be grateful if any of you boffins could give me your interpretations of it's uses.

A few gentle examples would be nice to.

I've never heard of it. Are you sure you don't mean ~?

If so, it basically has two meanings. The first essentially translates as "until ~ happens".

For example:

ʵ ϴ. - I slept until (it was) late.
ذ ߵ ԰ ̾߱ ߽ϴ. - We drank and talked until the sun came up.

The other, probably more useful, meaning is "so that ~ happens" or "hoping that ~ .

For example:

ϵ DVD濡 ʴߴ. - I invited (her) to the DVD room so that I could have sex with her.

This type of construction is also frequently used in the negative, when talking about things you're trying to prevent, as in:

 ɸ ʵ ܵ ϴ. - I wore a condom so that I wouldn't get a social disease.

I hope that this answers your questions.

It means 'striving towards a goal' as far as I know.

I can't say if those examples were good, but here is another one.

 ʵ ּ...beg so that you don't die.

ʴ means not die, and then put on the ~ and then the verb after you're going to use as your means for not dying.
