Well, I was quite worried 2 weeks ago about moving to Anyang. Had a job, no apartment.

Yep. People were right. Took 2 days for the school to get me an apartment. Dosent look so great, but the size is good, a kitchen and 2 other rooms. THey are replacing the floors, cleaning up the whole place, and buying me what I need.

Moving Wednesday morning, and by Wednesday night will be moveddddd in.

Unreal. 2 days to find an apartment.

I envy you....I'm back to Cheongju and I miss Anyang terribly. It's a good city...I'm sure you'll enjoy it there. My new apartment is half the size of the one in Anyang and I already can't stand my neighbors who laugh upon seeing me and the stupid apartment announcer that comes on those speakers at freakin' 8:00 am Evil or Very Mad I still will escape to Anyang on the weekends to visit dear friends there. Try the Rockissin bar on Friday nights on Anyang 1st Street (or "il-boon-ga") They have a pretty good live music session and plenty of cool foreigners. Also a couple of really good places in Pyeongchon, the hagwon-ga area.

Lucky you Evil or Very Mad I'll cry in my ramyeon noodles now.

If you remove the faceplate of the speaker you can disconnect the wires and will never be bothered by a disembodied voice speaking Korean in your apartment again.

It is one of the first things I do upon moving into a new apartment. Wink

Grotto, I wish I knew you 3 years ago. That apt. always had some one blaring thru the speakers. I didnt know I could do that.

New apt is a villa, and have not seen a speaker system. Its an old place. But if I do see a speaker I sure will disconnect it.

Once my apt gets fixed up it will really be nice. Kitchen is a nice size, and 2 other rooms. One will have the bed in it and be a closet, and the other one will be a living room. I bought 2 great loveseats for 35,000 each from a recycle center. Man do they have great stuff. Have to be carefull tho, some things are a rip off, but I saw some great couches, chairs and love seats. I could not figure out what to buy, but I wanted comfort.

Of corse where I live now I have found most of my things on the street. It is amazing what Koreans throw away. If I wanted to open a bedding store, I could. beds, yo's, blankets, and pillows galore can be found here. I had seen some great pieces, but without a car could never get stuff back here.

Anyang is a nice place. I do not go out drinking, so am not interested in the bars. I am just interested in walking.

Moving is a pain. Movers are comming at 6am Wed, and almost packed. I just have to have the movers some how pack the microwave, oven 9table top ) and a comp. monitor. I could not find really big boxes that were in good shape.

Sounds like you found yourself a decent place to work in regards to housing.
Have you started yet?
What's the job like?
