What would you do or what kind of punishment should a student(elementary son of the Hakwon owner) receive who stands on his chair and spits in your face? I wonder where he would learn to do such a thing. Later, after the Wonjang fired me the father spit on me Evil or Very Mad . Now I know where the little evil thing learned how to disrespect Americans.

I've been known to hold kids by their ankles over the roof, ah the sugh knight school of education.
But seriously, with the parent being a freak, well you're better off gone- but normally I would have bent the chold over my knee and given that butt two solid whaps. Korean mothers love that. For true.

Either that or there is a whole lot more to this story that you aren't telling us.

I used to teach the owners kid. The little brat milked for all it was worth. He whined to his mom every single class and did whatever he wanted. He was bad, I hated him. I was spat on too but by one of the retards in a public school.

Really there is nothing you can do. They know that we aren't real teachers worth respecting so they can get away with it. Especially at my last hagwon.

Being spat upon and sworn at is just part of the experience of teaching at a Korean hagwon.

... and do I have to mention ddongchim.

Retire to the restroom, wipe it off, then take his book back to the restroom and take a giant dump in it.

It depends on the context of the situation. Why did the kid spit on you? How old is he? My punishment would range from being kicked out of class and maybe staying after class and doing extra chores, to being kicked permanently out of my class until I receive a written apology from his parents, or from him signed by his parents.

The worst offence I've ever had was when a girl pulled a temper-tantrum at me because I wanted her to move. She threw her book at my head and knocked over her desk, and stood in her spot defiantly, with her arms crossed. I tried to get her to leave the room. After she wouldn't leave, I took her bag and books and put them under my desk in the office, and then carried on teaching the class as if she wasn't there. After class I made her stay and do extra work until the next bus arrived. I haven't had even the slightest problem with her since then (*knock on wood*).

I got one for you. A buddy of mine teaches at junior high school here in Japan. He's got this one kid who's always giving him the "kancho" (the old fingers-up-the-butt trick, I think it's "dong chim" Question in Korean).
My buddy's big, too, like 190cm 110kilos.

One day, they're having this PTA mixer in the gym. He feels someone sticking their fingers in his butt. He wheels around...and there's the father of the notorious kancho kid. True story.

Had one kid ddongchim me in class while I was writing on the board. Ha ha. Stop it. Turn around and continue.

Ddonchim again. Look, now you're about to make me upset; knock it off or you will not like the consequences. Turn around and continue.

Ddongchim the third. That's it! Grabbed the kid, bend him over his desk, held him down as all of his classmates lined up behind him, and everyone was allowed to ddongchim him in turn. Yeah, you just keep trying to wriggle away, you little yardape, you're not going anywhere.

He got it prolly about 8 or 9 times that class. Funny, I never had any discipline problems (from ANYONE) after that day.

I've always found a nice judo wrist lock was a cure for ddongchim. Not a painful one, just one that says, "look kid, don't."
