Hi,
I'm buying a laptop from America which is being brought over here by someone thats visiting (g'friends mum ).
Im wondering:
When i go back home to Britain, how difficult will it be to use the laptop from the mains (the electrical socket in the wall) ? Will it simply be a case of buying a new lead that runs from the wall into the black box that runs (via another lead) to my laptop or will it be more complicated? The voltage in Britain is 230 and (i think) the voltage in America is 110-120 (or something).....
I am totally useless with electrics and most things electronic (i once stuck my fingure in a light socket that was on to see if it was on, it was!!! = hospital...
Thanks a lot guys... |

You'll have no problem bach!
The keyboard won't have a "pound" sign - but setting the countryand keyboard to UK will give that back.
Laptops are multi voltage, almost always auto-sensing too. I bought one in US last year and have used it in UK, US, Korea, no problems. Just keep changing the plug or walk around with a bagful of adaptors. |
