| A few friends and I want to get some sticks to play roller hockey. We are in Gwangju, but are planning on going to Seoul in two weeks to buy sticks. Where can we buy sticks? Also, we want to get some ink done. Is there anywhere in Seoul where you can get tattoos (I have heard it is illegal in Korea)? |

| I saw that the Jim Paek's hockey store in Yangjae is no longer there. Is the other store still going in Mokdong? |

The Mokdong store's still going... There's also another store on the same floor of the same building called "Hockey Giant" that may be worth checking out... Also, across the street inside the actual arena there's a really small place called "Hockey Zone" or something- still may have something the other two don't though, so sometimes worth a look.
As far as ink goes, I don't know of any places, but someone I knew who had it done here said it was expensive as hell. |

Ink...hate to say this bro, but check the search- this topic is like bad kimchi- it just keeps coming back up. Allow me to sum upo though in case the search doesn't work:
1) Don't get it done here. Korean work is not good. Thats the main problem. They just aren;t good.
2) You are surrounded by masters. Save up your cash and hit the philipines or thailand, or if you're pulling in some serious bank- get to Japan and have yourself done by the true masters.
3) Should you disregard this, check in yongsan by the base. As is so true anywhere in the world, where there are drunk soldiers- there are enterprising sorts waiting to draw on them.
4) I don;t remember where, but someone mentioned on a previous post (I think it was Peppermint) that there is a member of the AMerican Steel biker's club somewhere in Seoul and he does tats. |

| oh, and it is NOT illegal in Korea, its just not good. Its illegal to visit saunas due to the gangster markings causing trouble (I'm pulling the reason out of my a--, but this is the reasoning in Japan) |

I've got a buddy who got an awesome Koi fish tat done across pretty much his entire shoulderblade- a bunch of colours- in the Phillippines for incredibly cheap... Can't say how much ($150?? Total guess... I forget), but it was definitely a mere fraction of whatever you'd pay at home or here. I believe he got it in Boracai (sp?)... Anyways, I'm sure there'd be health and quality-related concerns, but if you ask around (not the touts, obviously), you should probably get a good idea of good places.
So yeah, the advice to wait til a vacation is definitely sound. |
