Google Formally Launches Desktop Search Tool

SAN FRANCISCO (Reuters) - Google Inc. late on Sunday made its desktop search widely available as it takes on rivals Microsoft Corp. and Yahoo Inc. in the race to help users find e-mail and files stored on computer hard drives.
