One day this week I went to the consulate in Fukuoka early in the morning planning to get my visa in one day, but the officer told me I had to come back the next day at 11am. He said that the policy changed at the beginning of the month (March). If you go to Fukuoka to get a work visa, you'll have to stay overnight and probably won't be able to get your passport until 11am the next day.

I've never gotten there before lunch, so this is not new to me, or anyone else.
Now, if this happens in Osaka, then that is new; I got my visa there in 50 minutes.

Hmm... I was always told that Osaka was the only place that allowed such a 1-day visa run, anyway.

I'm going to Osaka on Sunday to get my visa on Monday. Anybody else going to be there? I went two weeks ago but my paperwork was wrong.

I would have preferred going to Fukuouka (??) because the air tickets are cheaper, but this new two day visa issuance situation fouled up my plan.

I'm going to make a visa run later this month, but my employer thinks he can send me over there on a Friday morning and I can pick it up Saturday. Can someone tell me if the consulate is presently open on Saturday? I don't think it is, but I need some confirmation. Thanks!

Not open on a Saturday.
