My roomie came home from Carre Four with a couple of lovely fish in a small bowl. But the water is starting to get a bit murky...
I have kept goldfish back home, and I would set out some water for 24 hours, and just used this water to refill when I cleaned the bowl. However, I don't think that the tap water is very good here...I don't want to kill our new pets! I know you can get conditioning products for the water, but this is a really small bowl, and really small fish...I was hoping I could just set out some bottled water, just like I used to do with the tap water back home, instead of buying a load of specialized stuff (which could also probably kill the fish if we used too much...)
Does anyone keep a few fish on their kitchen table, who can give advice? |

Mumblebee you should be fine with the bottled water at room temperature. My coworker's goldfish has lived for over 3 months now with bottled water.
On a side note, try to feed the fish only as much as they can eat in a minute or two. The uneaten food will usually just cloud up the water, especially without a filter. |
