Hi I'm a kiwi in Korea Very Happy Without knowing where you will be this is hard.

Stuff I bought with me when I came over:
Manuka and Lemon honey, I love the stuff.

Pesto.

Toffee pops, tim tams, squiqqles, perky nanas, jaffas, macintoshes toffees, chocolate fish. Cookie time cookies (kiwi junkfood rocks). Also bear in mind that your family should send you care packages reasonably regurlaly.

Panadol (the pain relievers here suck)

Tampons. (the tampons here suck/don't exist)

A loaf of vogels bread (I have a freezer)

A bottle of L and P.

Opaque stockings (sheer varities are avaible here) if you are even slightly overweight or tall (by tall I mean over about 170cm) you won't find stuff to fit here.

Deoderant (mum roll ons). Though deoderant is available here it's expensive and not always easy to find.

Bras if you're over a b cup, plenty of underwear. also shirts, jeans and shorts.Fashion tip from CLG. If you love fabric shopping go to dongdaemun and find the chain store. get some funky fabric and then go to a tailor and get some funky skirts done up for cheap.

Shoes if you are over a size seven as you won't find womens shoes past that and korean shoes aren't very good.

Photos of your familly.and New zealand.

Go get a prescription of condoms from your doctor as western condoms are expensive and hard to come by here (no pun intended)

Natures best volume one and two as it's always good to have music from home.

A couple of bottles of decent kiwi wine for special occasions.

Granted I went a bit over board..

Don't bring cadbury chocolate as you can find it in a shop called sweet space that has multiple outlets in seoul, though it's the australian varitey. I've seen vegemite at hanam supermarket in itaewon in seoul. Marmite is an unknown thing here.

Now how to get it here. If you are flying air new zealand you are going to get charged 40 bucks a kilo for ever kilo over 25kgs. So if you are flying with them then you need to post stuff. costs about 13 bucks a kilo.

Thai and singapore have given me free extra luggage allowances in the past but you need to call up and pleed your case with the airline involved. Mention that your relocating overseas and will have trouble finding stuff in your size.

Hope this helps.

Ok, so either you are with a Western guy, or your Korean dude is hung like Holmes.

Who is he?

What I was jumping on was not the word condom, or the fact that she wanted western ones- but that she needs a prescription for them!

I suspect the urge for western ones is because Korean ones break rather too often for my taste.

You don't need a prescription for condoms in new zealand, But if you do then you can get like 200 for 2 bucks as opposed to 10 for 14bucks at the chemists.
