How long does it take a Hakwon to get a blue paper(from Immigration) which allows you to go out of country to get a new E-2 Visa? They told me 4 days. Is that correct, my Visa expires in 3 days, why can't I go now or why won't they send me Tues. or Wed.?
Thank you! |

Just go to immigration and get an extension on the Visa.
It might take 4 to 6 business days to get your blue paper. |

Try not to worry, seems like everything at immigration is slowing down because they're introducing all kinds of crazy requirements for new visas. A background check is understandable- an essay and a letter from a professor is not. |

At least 50% of the schools/hakwons must try to have/make the employee/teacher teach before sending them to Osaka, Japan or where ever. That is illegal, riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight??? I'm not going to do it! I did it two times in the past and I'm not going to do it again. That is even another reason I probably can't even get one of the easiest jobs(=hawon/school most likely to break the law, needs someone ASAP, and happy to have only a phone interview). The recruiting company tells me to contact them after the interview with information about whatever, I contact them and tell them the school wanted me to work illegally. After that I never hear from the recruiting company again. These puke faces are almost aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaallllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll CROOKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm sick of traveling all over b**p for interviews. I must see the contract via e-mail before I go anywhere again. One place(Recruiter) said it is confidential information and cannot send me the contract. I think they must be hiding something. |

Hammer, did it really take two weeks to get your blue paper? Or did the boss get it in a couple of days then say it hasn't arrived yet. To see how you fit in?
Took two days to get mine. The boss says immigration allows two weeks before the visa run. Who knows? Derrek with his horror story would say NOT.
But to the OP I'd say the relationship with the prospective boss is important and being uptight and suspicious interferes with that. Who knows how loose immigration is, if it's set or not, or freeflowing. Looking at Korea generally I'd say it's hey, free-flowing... |

Yes, it took two weeks.
Actually, the admin people at my school messed up the paperwork the first time. I did two visa runs to Osaka in the last three weeks.
Incheon immigration says it will be 1 month before I get my Alien Card. |
