Great, a study just came out that said second hand smoke increases the risk of breast cancer anywhere from 29 to 99%. Oddly, not for the smokers in the least. They can smoke away. Now, where am I going to hang out in Korea. Everyone I know, except me, smokes. Does anyone else here hate smokers, smoke, second hand smoke etc? Also, why is smoking still so popular, esp. among the waygook gals? |

Where I live (Saskatchewan) no smoking is allowed in public places. Its awesome. Bars are way better, and I can actually wear some of the same clothes the day after I go out drinking (assuming I don't puke on them) since they don't have that sickening "night of smokey bar" scent.
Of course, I don't smoke, so I'm biased. But a couple of my friends have quit smoking since it can only be done on private property or designated areas.
Ive cut down on my second-hand smoking by 90%! |

You from Alberta or Saskachewan? Saskachewan is a dump when it comes to job-market, but its a wonderful land with amazing natural forrests and lakes in the North. Love the non-agricultural land here. Because we don't privatize oil here we are poor and jobless, but at least there is sweet-ass nature thats not ravaged by oil manufacturing. We just let Weyerhauser and endless agricultural fields rape our land. Anyone who grew up watching "The Racoons" hates those Cyril Sneer fuckers.
For chronic, I get B.C. import here. The local variety sucks for the most part.
Anyway, ill be leaving this job-wasteland to go to Korea. I'd like to buy some of the wonderful old-growth forrest land someday though and retire in it. If its still around by then.
And farm girls rock me. |

I'm from Calgary. But I will tip my hat in respect to the fact that Saskatoon has some very fine-looking women, from what I've seen when I've been through there. Don't know much about the herb, though. We AB folk usually bring our own. |

No worries, though - second-hand smoke leads to second-hand coolness. |

So, you wear the same clothes the next day after a night on the town, but you think second hand smoke is sickening? |

Well..... the smokers are getting at least as much second-hand smoke as those not smoking, so don't worry -- they are getting their share of increased breast cancer risk (particularly the women -- but overweight men can get breast cancer too).
I'm not as bothered by smokers as I used to be in Korea -- possibly because I eat at home and don't go out drinking too often either (also more ane more restaurants are non-smoking), but I DO wish my father-in-law would quit -- or at least smoke on the verandah like I've asked him when he visits .... bit of a jerk sometimes.... |

we've already had this discussion on here and it was generally decided that smoking was both big and clever.
Hope this helps

Smoking promotes hair loss, too, it would seem. |

What's the difference between a dead smoker and a dead non-smoker?
Nothing. |

why would anyone promote hair loss? It's a natural phenomon and no-one makes any money out of it. I dunno, sometimes.. |

The second one has finally shut up and stopped complaining about the hobbies and habits of other people. |

Second hand smoke is disgusting. So is smoking. It certainly makes you sick. Check out the multi billion dollar lawsuits against the tobacco manufactorers. Wearing the same clothes two days in a row does not make you or anyone else sick. I am assuming you were joking since no one could be that stupid to compare the two.

WTF? No one said anyone is promoting hair loss. Tobacco does that for you very nicely apparently. Mind you, the children at my school warned me about walking out in the rain without an umbrella. They told me that I would go bald. From the acid rain.
I am from Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. Nice place to live but with an aging population and a shrinking tax base, who is going to be paying the taxes in the next 20 years? Too bad really... |
