I also hearing that the visa trip to Osaka has been streamlined to follow the same guidlines as the other embassies; There is now an over-night waiting period.

Please shed more light on the subject?

I tried to call the embassy, but they all played dumb and didn't speak any English or Korean to me.

Also, any accurate info you give me, would also benefit others on the board and those coming over soon.

I will have to do a "change of status" run, so I should be going there in the next few weeks (March 23rd to be exact). I got a map of the approximate area, so if you want to tag along, feel free to do so.

Also, I'll post detailed info as a "sticky" once I return.

Yes, get yen at Incheon, 10 am flight, go directly to the bullet train to Namba Stn., get to the consulate by one, at the door when they re-open after lunch at one-thirty, first in line at the window with money, photo, forms and passport, go have a beer, pick up passport at 4 pm, on the train at Namba by 4:15, at the airport by 4:45, leave at 5 pm, arrive at Incheon around 7, get a bus to wherever you live. In like Flynn.

The only really hard part (aside from the go go go) is figuring out which way to go from Namba to the embassy. I don't remember the exit number and Namba isn't like the subway stations here; it's a bit convoluted and has a lot of exits that, as far as I can tell, all go to the same place. If you're familiar with the above area it's not a problem, but if not I could see myself getting lost really fast. Shinsaibashi should be on your right and you should be on a major straight road. There's a big freeway a block or two away, a bit off in the distance. If all else fails, ask for either the river or the Holiday Inn, which is right across from the embassy. If you've walked straight for more than 15 minutes and haven't seen the river, you're definitely going the wrong way.

The only vital thing to do at Namba Station is go out The North Exit.

If you do that the road to the Korean Embassy is straight ahead across the street.

Actually, the company isn't paying for it, since it is an independent contracting job and they are only sponsoring the visa, so everything is out-of-pocket.

That is one thing I miss about being a teacher
