Currently a large cable T.V./Internet company is offering FREE INSTALLATION. I am sorry to say that it is not free to Waygooks. And, the rules/guidelines have tightened, you are now unable to get connected without a Korean guarantor. You will need the Korean persons personal identification number etc... to get connected. Just last year I was able to get connected by myself. The company never even new my passport or ARC numbers. I have an outstanding bill because my Wonjang kicked/locked me out of my house and told the cable company I have the cable box. Fortunately the cable company never charged me for the box(160,000 Won) and finally the service was disconnected or changed into another name.
The cable company has no hope of getting the outstanding bill from me some(80,000 Won) of free service the new teacher obtained. I should have called the cable company immediately after I was illegally kicked out of my house but I had more important things to tackle at the time. I'm sure the Wonjang now has the service in his name and billed the new Teacher for the service that was never paid to the cable company.
The cable company couldn't be any more in your face about discrimination than offering only Korean people FREE INSTALLATION. Koreans get free installation but the Waygooks don't! A funny thing is the person(inside) asked for my assistance to explain this matter to Waygooks. I told the person that I am sorry, I cannot help you discriminate! |
