| I have a friend who got a used phone there. She said they don't display them because they'd really rather sell you a new one, but if you pester them enough they'll pull some used ones out from under the counter. She said some places might legitimately not have any, but she got one at the third place she tried or something so a fair few must. Not sure if she had Korean-speaking help along or if she did it in English. |

Dude, on the handphone floor at TM they are EVERYWHERE. Most stores (more along the edges of the floor) have them mixed in with the new ones. Check along the perimiter of the floor.
Generally, the smaller shops are the ones with the used phones. The massive KTF and SK stores with the nicest storefronts don't often have much. |

Go to Itaewon.
The phone shops there always have used phones.
You also won't get the "anti-foreigner" treatment.
Anti-foreign Koreans stay out of Itaewon. |
so do anti-foreign foreigners.... |

Go to the cell phone floor and just walk slowly around.
Salespeople will approach you and say something like "Cardapone Cardapone" as you pass. 50,000 won will get you one of the most outdated, ugly, scratched up pieces of junk imaginable, 100,000 will get you something better, probably top of the line, non camera phone, used but in good condition.
I got this for 190,000. 6 months old, great condition.
Some staff will speak English, some won't.
If you're not going with a Korean it's certainly easier to go to an English speaker just to get the thing registered and useable but it's relatively straight forward even if you don't..
Take your ARC or passport. |
