I checked out the website of the Korean Embassy in London and according to them British Nationals can enter Korea for business or travel purposes without a visa as long as they have a valid passport and a return air ticket and stay no longer than 90days. Did I read this correctly? or do British people still have to get a tourist visa stamped into their passports before arriving in Korea?
I just want to be sure...thanks for your help.

Your information is correct. When you arrive at Incheon airport your passport will be stamped with a 90 day tourist visa. It's a formality. They won't deny you entry unless you have a coke bubble coming from your nose or something like that.

Thanks Eamo,

I'll avoid the pre-flight coke session just to be on the safe side... Laughing

No problem, and never any questions asked. "Yonguk shinsa? Oso osipsio" - "English gentleman? Welcome."

Yes, it's amazing how suddenly a taxi driver warms up to you when he asks "Meeguk?" and you answer "Yonguk"

Another good thing about the UK passport is that you get a lot of stuff at immigration done free - like the multi entry visa for example. I learned this when I registered my newborn as a Brit, rather than an Australian (we both have dual nationality). Now I'm kicking myself for not using my British passport here in the first place! But I was in Australia when I applied for my first visa here and didn't know any better.

That's because when we answer "Yeah, I'm an American" they have to drive us wherever we want for free.
