Does anyone know what papaerwork you need to brign with you to get your F2 visa? Does my wife need to come or can I do it alone? And can you get permission to work at the same time? I came into Korea on an E2 3 weeks ago and am going to the office on monday. I could register on my E2 and then change it to an F2, but I would prefer to do it in one go.

Thanks

You've only had your E-2 for 3 weeks? I don't think I would change to an F-2 so soon then, since your F-2 will have to be extended in a year anyway -- I mean, why go through the hassles of immigration and the expense one more time than you have to? Unless you're thinking of leaving your job or something, or have another reason (like you're doing private lessons and you don't want the threat of getting deported if you're caught). That's my take on it, anyway -- curious to see what others will say.

Oh yeah, and your wife will have to go with you. As for all the other stuff, I'm drawing a blank at the moment. Basically, bring all the stuff you needed for your E-2, as well as your marriage certificate, and possibly a bank statement in your or your wife's name (but I doubt that last part if you have a job). I can't remember much more, but I'm sure someone will.

Honestly, I am not being a smart ass.

Have your wife give them a call and they will tell her exactly what you need (which is better as it will be in Korean and she is the one that will need to gather up the papers).

I can say that both of you need to be there when you present your paper work "package".

Thanks Casey's and chiaa,

Having my wife phone is a good idea, but they were on lunch today so it was a no go there, as well, I would prefer real experiences as opposed to the random stories immigration may request.

Re Casey's, I came in on an E2 becuase we dont have 40 million won to prove she can support me, but if I have a job she does not need it. I have not registered yet at immigration so i would prefer to go dirrectly from my E2 passort visa to an F2 ARC. Also, I do want to do extra work editing. Does anyone know if it is possable to do this?

Thanks again...
