Except for most people under 25 in #8, those over 50 in #7 and everyone in #10. |

(The US) "ranks poorly on the specific dimensions of economic opportunity and health and well-being, compromised by meagre maternity leave, the lack of maternity leave benefits and limited government-provided childcare," the WEF said. |
So basically, it's not a survey about gender equality, but about social programs spending. |

Latin America has its share of poor performers, with Venezuela, Brazil and Mexico all in the worst 10.
"The problem here appears to be not in the lack of opportunity once women have entered the workforce, but rather in giving them access to the educational training and basic rights, such as healthcare and political empowerment, that will enable them to join the workforce," the WEF said. |
I lived in Mexico. Most men lack the same opportunities and access. I wonder about the objectivity of this study.

I hear it's a class issue in Latin America rather than a gender one. |

Many women use marriage as a meal-ticket, a way to escape their feminist won freedom to pursue a career. (Women Vs. Women: The Uncivil Business War, Tara Roth Madden, p 137)

Women aspire to be housewives without any of the housework
Mothers are rejecting equality in the workplace and prefer the idea of becoming full-time housewives - but not ones who actually do housework... they want to play the "role" of housewife with a little help from, for instance, a nanny, and someone who does the ironing.

I haven't mentioned anything about him for a good month or so- he used to get under my skin a lot more than he does now.
"torn a new one daily on the herald forum"? I can't remember what I used to argue about on there, but yeah it must have been about a year ago at least. Sheesh that thing had horrible, twisted, angry people on it, is it still going? |

well, they always had the freedom to pursue a career. Feminism was about giving women an EQUAL chance to pursue a career.
and on the web page itself it's followed by:
Quote: |
Thus, a man who marries a woman with a career may suddenly find himself supporting a housewife |
and what the hell is wrong with that? Are you scared that her job may be in jeopardy when she's pmsing? or that she won't be willing to give it up to the boss and therefore, lose her job?
the rest of this particular link is a sham
re: the telegraph article.
Not ONCE did it give any sort of number/percentage to indicate that the title was correct. In fact, they hardly even gave a correlating set of data between women staying at home and women wanting to have nannies.
This links smells of bunkness
i'm not even sure about reading this "stop foooting the bill on dates" as the second sentence in the article reads:
Quote: |
Women in the 2000's are now earning as much as -- or more than -- their male counterparts |
when doing a 4 second google: the askman's articles fact:
Quote: |
the wage gap simply does not exist for women with bachelor's degrees, even in such "male-dominated" fields as architecture and engineering.
|
is put into context when checking the us census bureaus stat:
Quote: |
Bachelor's degree or higher, pct of persons age 25+, 24.4%: |
wow...so, assuming half of those are women (which is obviously humourous) they are basing 100% of women's income on a mesely 12.2%.
Come now....
i like this link on your last page:

as i skimmed through the actual article, it made me wonder what kinda women this chick knew.
really, what kind... |
