This is a paraphrase of what I read on the website from the CDN embassy here. It was nice and plain. Don't remember the exact words, but that was the message for us in Korea.
I know we all know this now anyway, but it was interesting to read it that way on the official website of an embassy. They didn't sugarcoat it and say nonsense like "Oh you will feel right at home among the warm-hearted and foreigner-loving people in Korea." |

Of course I don't fit in here- but that's OK. I'm not expected to fit in and if I ever actually did (learned perfect Korean, married a K-girl, started walking around in a hangbok) I may become downright unemployable.
The thing is, I never fit in anyplace I lived in the States and there I was expected to. |
