Does anyone have any good links for companies that allow hotlinking and offer a lot of webspace (not necessarily bandwidth) for cheap?
A friend is going on a round the world trip and I think it'd be good if she had an online backup of the (no doubt thousands of) pictures she's going to take. |

| While it doesn't address the hotlinking issue, setting up a few gmail accounts could provide adequate (free) space for backup. |

I'm hosting my page with dot5hosting.com, based in California. I've bought 1.5 Gig of space for $5 a month. The domain is free if you buy one year's time. I'm glad I did this; it's quick, they have good tech support, and there's no fiddling with pop-ups.

You can try photobucket.com.
Fortunately I'm still under Blogger's old service which now (didn't before but does now for some reason) gives me virtually unlimited free space with ftp access. It used to be 100MB then it was 1GB now they raised it to 10 GBs for me, last time I checked.
The new system they have gives you unlimited space too, but you can't ftp into your own site and have to send all your photos through a "photobot." Can't she do that? |
