A lot of my classes are using books too hard for them. Just as one example, today, we were doing an exercise in their textbook that was not so easy. It was a book 6 exercise for kids who are not really at book 3 or 4.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"If he had written that letter, wouldn't he have signed his name?"

== for kids who are at, " He can write his name."
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Then at one point the kid tried to ask me at random, "Teacher, where your birthday?" (that was his question)

I said, "September."

They conferred.

"September?"

"I don't know" (they spoke korean)

And his reply was indicative. "I don't know. I don't care"

Other kids with over a year at the school ask:

"Teacher, you, what old?"

"Teacher, you is what kilo?"

Or say: " Me is book, no"
=======================================

Sigh.

I got about 10 classes. Seven are, three aren't.

Next month, some of these Let's Go 3 classes will change into English Time 1.

I know you're having problems at this school. Can you change the book? If not, like the blind leading the blind, just book on and don't worry about it. A page a day, or two pages a day, and collect your pay at the end of the month.

Yes, although for my reading classes its a bit hard to find books at a low reading level that would interest middle school students.

This nonsense of "Joon is in the same class as Pipin because they are friends" has to stop. Joon is grade 3, Pipin is grade 5. Joon has been studying English for 6 months, Pipin for 2 years.
