A little girl, crying in the doorway, bowed her head. I looked and saw just one gym shoe on her left foot. I'd thought someone pulled a nasty joke and hid the other.
We all searched for the missing shoe, but it turned out it was discarded, stolen. First time this has ever happened while I've worked here.
The little girl is morose, won't answer in class. I think she's picked on. This act, however, really surprised me, since I'd thought in hagwons and schools shoes were sacrosanct.
Anyone ever had shoe stealing happen at their hagwons? |

| Haven't had any disappear entirely, but did have a prankster remove one little girl's shoes from the rack and stuff them in a toilet once. |

| I stole a kid's shoe for an hour or so... Because he threw it at me. I made sure he went home a lot more pissed off than i was, having taken shit from all the KTs. |

| I once lived in a building where there was an outside door. Everyone left their shoes there then walked down an inside hallway to their apt. Someone stole a pair of my new shoes. Twice. I started carrying my shoes to my apt after the second theft. |

I've had two pairs of shoes stolen...I didn't think anyone could do worse.
Until someone stole the socks, and only the socks, out from my shoes while I was practicing TKD at my gym.
Oh, the humanity!
