|
|
just wondered anyones experiences on this sort of thing. Have spoke to fortune tellers a few times. IVe kind of found it a fun experience and thing there is some truth in it while its got to be taken with a pinch of salt.
my first experience was a few years ago in thailand. i was told about issues with my parents and how i should study buddhism. and also i would break from my parents in my first job when i would work with foreign people. this did come together at points later with me moving to korea and feeling bad and confused and seeking counselling and having a course of therapy which was amazing for me and my health. other stuff was perhaps a bit more randon perhaps.
recently i had an experience in jongak which told me things about not liking my country and having my best experiences in certain areas, one being australia.
i discussed this in a free talk class and was told a comical experience from a male student who went with his gf and the person said he was a play boy, bad for her and at that time met with a younger girl, which was true.
anyway, just my small experiences. was quite surprised as there seemed quite limited posts on here but it seems a thing very widely done in korea. |

I visited a fortune teller in Suwon. I didn't speak Korean and went with a girl I was dating at the time, who didn't speak very good English. Neither did the fortune teller. Early on, the fortune teller said that I had a twin brother... and apparently she could not have known. I thought at the time that this could be something great... because I do. She goes on and on talking while my korean friend was writing all of this stuff down. Then came the part where if you pay so much extra, she'll go to some waterfall and do a special prayer ceremony for you. Most skip this fee... and so did we.
Anyway... we went to a coffee shop after and she began telling me what was said. EVERYTHING from the twin comment after, was about 'her' and me and our potential future together. And things I didn't care to know... like how much money I would have (quite a bit was the answer)... whether I'd have a long life (no was the answer).. children... etc... I was disappointed because I wanted to know about my life and whether I was on the right track and doing what I should be doing... not about the girl I was dating and didn't even like that much.
My advice then... don't go with a girl you are not serious about, or go with a Korean guy (if you are a guy), because at least then it'll be all about you. |

I went to see one back home in Ireland, shes actually a gypsy and reads both palms and the crystal ball. I got her to do the crystal ball for me, now considering I live in the very north of Ireland, and she was based in the south there is no way she could have known me. It was unreal and pretty scary what she told me, everything from my past, down to my baby brother being still born and my older brother being involved in a really serious accident, things there are no way she could have known. Secondly what she told me about the future, hell....its scary, she said I'd move to Korea of all places!! About my job, about my fiance, and then she said my first baby would be a son, which it is!! I wasn't a believer but after that..yeah my opinion has changed. Ok some might say that this was just pure luck on her behalf that everything fitted in with my life, but the fact she read two of my friends palms the same night, and she told them about their bereaved parents, their past and their future, some which has come true also so far. So I'm hoping all she has told me will continue to happen 'cos it was all pretty good Yeah I went to one in Jongak, and honestly was terrible.....

that's a relief- because I heard the US attack on NK was pencilled in for March 2005.
Anyway, fortune telling... |

I was dragged to one with a girlfriend here. I do not belive in it but in a way I want to.
The main points the guy made were:
1)I will retire rich at age 45
2) I should stay in Korea as it is a forest country and lots of wood is good for me.
3) I will marry a woman 16 years my junior. So my future wife is currently 17.
4) I will have 5 children
I guess I better get out of my office more or I will never fit all this in. |

why was this one so bad. cant remember the one i went to, the person there made a lot of sense to me though. to an extent at least.
actually they told me my life change, country etc would be in 2006. i would actually like to stay in korea beyond my contract expiring next year. so maybe i will get the good deal im hoping for. also said id meet my future wife that year, from korea or japan. v interesting i think. really interested to see if i good job here comes up for me to save cash towards my house in england as i plan |

| The guy I went to see in Jongak told me I'd be married within six mths, now that was two years ago, and that my first child would be a daughter, which it isn't cos I'm expecting a little boy in two weeks. The final straw was he thought I was military!! Which I'm not either....but then again, he did tell my Korean friend that she would be married within a year, which she was......but I must say after that meeting she specifically went looking for a husband...and obviously found one. I don't know maybe he was just having a bad day, I've heard some good things about some of them up there though. |

I went into a fortune teller on 14th street in Manhattan. She had her own hole-in-the-wall office (or whatever it is).
I went in there telling her absolutely nothing - wanted a very fair session! So spent most of the session hunting around for stuff. Like you are having arguments with family members? (my answer - no), a relationship issue? (my answer - no), and on and on. She fished around and basically made up something half-ass.
I think the idea is I am suppose to grab onto something she says... run with it.. and she says words around it. I didnt play the game correctly for the scam to work and leave convinced.
Before I left though she pitched that I should buy some rocks to put under my pillow and I should bring them back a week later or something or another |

when my husband and i were engaged, birth days and hours were assessed to determine our compatibility. conveniently, everything said was as we knew ourselves, and how we related, to be.
as long as fortune tellers prop my own practices and beliefs i'm fine with them. |

I picked up a witch who was hitchhiking once.
She reached over and touched my knee and we turned into a motel. |

actually the jongak person
i remember i went with a korean friend. she studied chinese and wanted to go to China. They did actually tell her that she would marry a chinese man and some stuff more negative than mine about how he wouldnt be so bothered about her but just marry her for convenience and equal status, quite sad but could potentially make sense. mine was pretty positive so hope mine works out and i get my k or japanese hotty in 2006. will post back then...haha |

I think some are legit, and some aren't...
I have never had a personal reading, but went with a good friend once back home in Canada.
First, we knocked on her door for about 10 mins, if she is psychic, shouldn't she know we were at the door?
Then she tells my friend, "You are from a foreign country." Well my friend is CHINESE......!! She basically told her stuff that could have been generalized to fit anyone.
My aunt went to one, and she said that she was very accurate, and a good one.
So I think they are hit and miss....and I hope to check one out in the future.
It also kills me when I see classified ads, wanting to hire psychics(saying WILL TRAIN)....I think you either have it or you don't!
I do believe in astrology as well, and check www.bubble.com for my free daily, weekly and monthly readings....I think he(Jonathan Cainer) is pretty accurate. |
