That'a really wierd to see that abstract. I was in the SLA program at Portland State University in the Linguistics Dept. and I never, ever saw anything about the recruitment of teachers for North Korea. Either that link is BS, or there is something more than meets the eye. I got offers for Myanmar, Dubai and Iran, but never anything about North Korea. As far as I know, the language exchange program that guy was talking about never existed.

The North Korean recruitment of foreign language teachers is very simple and cheap.

They kidnap 'em and drag 'em back to North Korea to train their spys and diplomats.

Would anyone go there to work?

I'd feel dirty getting paid by that regime,
but on the other hand, it would be fascinating to see how that society functions,
Is the indoctrination successful? Or are the people just powerless to do anything?

You could write a book, if they ever let you leave.

I would go there to work. However, as a United States citizen, North Korea will not let me enter the country, except to visit Mount Baekdu and Panmunjeon (there might be other places too, but I can't remember for sure).
