QUESTION: Where do we need to apply for a multiple entry visa ??? IN Japan e.g., or HERE in Korea before we leave on our visa run ???
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks. |

The visa you get in your passport outside Korea is a single-entry visa.
You can always get a new single entry visa at the airport in the landside immigration office.
Multi-entry stamps are only given at one of the various immigration offices around the country, including Seoul. |

| Not sure, but I believe american's are given the multiple entry visa automatically, from the begining. The rest of us have to apply and in most cases pay for it too. ( Does this make up for the lack of a lengthy tourist visa?) |

Yes, Americans can get the multiple entry visa with their E2 outside Korea. Don't know if you have to ask or if it's given automatically. I've always got it no problem. (and no extra money)
Look at your E2. If it has S stamped in it, then you are only allowed one entry into Korea, if it has M stamped into it, then you can come and go as you please as long as the E2 lasts.
If you don't have the multiple entry visa, it's pretty easy to get. Just have to go down to your local immigration and pick up one. Cost is around 50k, I believe. |

Single re-entry stamp at the airport (Incheon) is the easiest.
30,000 won. Should take 5-10 mins.
They don't do mutiples there though. |

Single re-entry at the airport is gratis for Brits (and maybe some others too). |

That single entry at the airport can be a pain if you go at a busy time. I almost missed my flight at chuseok because of that delay. If you leave the country twice then you save on the costs anyway.

That sounds like a business entry visa, not linked to a residence/work permit.
Multi-entry visas for residents follow the issue of an ARC and are free for UK nationals, don't know about others. |
