I've noticed lately some web developers have found a way around Firefox's pop up blocker (also Mac's Safari browser, before you recycle bin toting Mac avatars all coo this is another reason to move to your toy system). It's generally agreed they're using a function in the flash plugin to pop up a web page. I've read they're working for a block for a summer update. That said, if pop ups are driving you 100% crazy you can block all flash content with:

http://flashblock.mozdev.org/

This will replace any flash item with a launch button. Click the button to see the flash things you really want. This also blocks some rich media ads on Yahoo pages etc. I feel bad about that. I don't mind a web site trying to pay its bills with an ad in the window I choose to open. Just don't litter my desktop with stupid windows. But oh well.
