If it's a male(most likely), you could get him a necktie...or a nice bottle of liquor if he's a drinker.

How about writing him a letter, having a korean friend translate it into Korean, and giving him both of them.

Take him out to dinner, perhaps with some other people at your school, and makig a speech?

This may sound kind of silly, but you know everyone likes praise.

DOes he like singing rooms? Many koreans like them. Perhaps you can go there after dinner.

Some of the best presents I have ever gotten were simple ones, a card made by a child, a beautiful notebook.

Maybe he would like a good pen.

Think about what he likes to do, and make it happen.

Holy deja vu. We just had a big debate. Koreans like booze. That's usually a safe bet. Another bang on gift is some smoked salmon. If you're from America or Canada, get some nice Pacific Northwest smoked salmon. You'll find it in all tourist themed places. A bottle of your local wine if you're from a wine-producing region. Sampler bottles of high quality home made jam. Honey also goes for a mint here and some Koreans use it for medical purposes.
