For me...

Some days like yesterday an 11/10 where I had a great day.

But then again last week I felt like about a -5/10,

On average about a 7/10 but I think i just need to get away overseas for a little while.

I've gone through my share of stupid and annoying stuff (with work) but overall I give it a 9/10. By the way, my work is awesome now! can't say no to 20 teaching time a week.

7/10 overall

But...it can fluctuate wildly from that baseline, either up or down, from day to day.

I think Korea is a great place.

The problem with being here is that my nephews and nieces don't know who I am anymore.

Family Conversation...

Sister: Do you miss your uncle Jack?
Nephew: Who?

A tear rolls down my face.

My honeymoon phase lasted about 6 months and ranked 12/10. Then tapered off and finished the year at 10/10. My 2nd year was the hangover from the first year. Maybe 5/10. But that really had a lot less to do with Korea, than some relationship and business battles, that could happen anywhere. The third year has been around 7/10, so far, but occassionally dips to 5/10 or peaks to 9/10. The tail end of the 3rd year is angling to be back in the 9s and 10s, however. At least, that's what the forecast chart says. Smile

Good for you DW. Glad you're enjoying yourself.

For me...I'd say a 6 or 7 out of 10.

I would say I see life in Korea as average. Somedays great other days horrendous. The good days outweigh the bad days so 6 out of 10.

I'd love it here if not for 2 things:

#1-dirty
#2-hard to be anything other than a teacher without educational advancement (which generally requires overseas study)

If I felt like I was going somewhere with my life, instead of just paying back uni bills, I'd be set. Get a big apartment, big TV, big sofa, big bed, big window, and a big car. High roll it with disposable income. Unfortunately, that dream is a long way off, and living here tends to sap the motivation out of me.

I've said it before and I'll say it again:

It's not Korea that I love it's being in Korea.
