Taxi 'Black Box' Leads to Air Hostess Killer
Police used cutting-edge technology to trace a taxi driver who has confessed to the killing of an air hostess whose disappearance made nationwide headlines earlier this month. Police suspected a taxi driver killed the air hostess when the driver of the cab she took on the night she disappeared failed to come forward. On March 20, Min, a nine-time convict, rose to the top of their list of suspects.
Police also confirmed through GPS records that the suspect drove to a bank and highway rest stop where he was caught on CCTV using the victim's credit card to withdraw money. Police have already been using cell phone tracking as a major investigative tool and have now made good use of taxi location records. Min told police he was caught in a cycle of mounting horse racing debts, wage cuts because of traffic accidents and bad credit.

Missing Air Hostess Found Strangled
An air hostess who was missing for six days was found dead on Monday, presumed murdered. The 25-year-old flight attendant identified as Choi was reported missing after taking a taxi home in the early hours of the morning. The body was discovered on Monday morning in a sand box along the National Road in Seongnam, Gyeonggi Province by a 55-year-old maintenance worker identified as Kang. Police say bruises around her neck indicate she was strangled, but there was no evidence of sexual violence.
Meanwhile, the notorious "Red Cap" who had terrorized female cafe and bar owners in Incheon and Gyeonggi Province was arrested on Monday. Incheon police on Monday issued an arrest warrant for two men identified as Song and Lee for sexually molesting and robbing the women owners and waitresses. Police say Song, 31, stole money and valuables worth W22.9 million from over 40 cafes and bars in the Seoul metropolitan area. He is also implicated in 34 cases of rape and sexual assault.

My friend designs these things for a living. He told me his company's biggest competitor is in Korea, so it's not as if it isn't available here. |
