I just came across this old post whilst doing a little research on my own area, and if any is interested things have changed for the better in the 5 years or so since this post.
The Incheon subway is now linked to the Airport Line and Line 7 towards north Incheon (Imhak / Gyesan / Jakjang / Bupyeong areas) plus Line 4 has extended into the Southern parts of Incheon.
In Imhak, Grand Mart is now Lotte Mart and there is also a Homeplus. Plus a number of Hofs, Coffee Shops, Banks plus a few Korean Nightclubs & Love Motels.
For foreigner stuff, there are a few good western bars in the Bupyeong Station area such as: RogerRoger, Woodstocks, Cheap Shots & Shelter. (Which is around 20mins away depending where you are traveling from)
Seoul is within easy reach as well as Bucheon.
I felt this post was a little negative on the area and Incheon in general, and although I admit it isn't the most happening place its still a nice place to live with plenty to do if you make the effort. |
