Well, a graphics driver won't do what you want. Sounds like you need RAM.

However, if you are convinced you want to try it, then get either a) inside the box and look, or b) a utility like sisoft sandra to tell you all inside.

The go to Nvidia or ATI, etc... for your driver.

Really, I don't think it's going to help at all.

Windows Update will also update practically any video driver. Have you tried there?

is to open up the PC, pull out the darn video card and LOOK. Check the actual video chip, coz the name on the card is often useless with the cheap cards.

And YES using a PROPER driver can IMPROVE performance - like, HELLO!!!

And YES using a good video card can make a HUGE difference in performance - sure, if your RAM sucks it will impact performance, but (HELLO) Windows IS ALSO GRAPHICS INTENSIVE.

Are you ok?

I think you need to relax, take a breath and re-read the OP. Then re-read your own post and laugh with us.

Hi ken.

I bothered to reply because you are telling people to do possibly hazerdous things and they need to know that your advice in this thread isn't sage.

"Looking at the actual chip" would involve not only the removal of the AGP card, but also the heatsink/fan combo in order to see what's under it. Also, how do you know its a cheap card? Anyways, such removals are not for everyone, to say the least.

Nobody said that a proper driver isn't useful.....however, a graphic driver update won't help slow navigation within windows. Windows is not "graphically intensive". Perhaps you could tell me what an "improper" graphics driver is?

Yes, using a good graphics card can improve performance. No one said otherwise.

EDIT: I wrote "PCI" card... Embarassed

Go to this site:
Lavalys

Select "Products" tab and dl the home edition.
This program is similar to Sisoft sandrta but much simpler to use.
There is a Korean language version too.

This may not solve your problem but it will make you happier knowing your vidcard.

Viruses and other malware may also make your PC run slowly.
If your RAM is 32mb as opposed to 128mb then your PC may run slowly.
If your HDD is full, programs running in the background (eg. viruses, auto updates), mismatched hardware.

Mine ran slowly recently and I ran Ad Aware. 49 problems were found and then my PC ran normally.
