Hello Forum Readers,

I'm posting to ask for any suggestions or pointers in regards to finding a 2nd-year ESL job. For the past year (my 1st in S. Korea), I've been working in a Daegu hagwon. I have few complaints about this job except that I have to work on Saturdays - something I never wish to do again. I've had experience teaching kids from elementary 2 to 55 year-old business executives in class situations and one-on-one. I don't really have a preference as to whom I'm teaching.

To cut to the chase, I'll be taking a 2-month vacation (between jobs) after my contract elapses in May. Then I plan to come back to Korea for at least another 6 months to a year to continue teaching somewhere. My mother is a former Korean citizen, so I'll be applying for a F-4 Visa next time around (I did the standard E-2 this past year).

What I'm hoping to find before I leave this May is a job that is light on hours - maybe even part-time if possible. When browsing the job postings, I tend to see only full-time jobs, but no mention of part-time. So any advice from people who've done part-time work or worked on F-4 Visa's would be especially welcome. I'm "half" gyopo, and my Korean, though not quite fluent, is good enough to hold conversations about a variety of subjects. Thanks in advance.

check out work n play for a variety of part time opportunities. If you choose to do part time, remember that airfare, housing and health are not included.

I think you should look into working at public schools. They are usually 1-5 for 2 mil, monday through friday, severance, no housing. airfare for some. it would be what I would look for.
