|
|
Hi.
I have been asked to attend for interview at Jel School in Sanbon.
Does anybody have anything good or bad to say about this school? I know it is a very large school with about 500 kids. There are about 10 foreign teachers at the school. It seems pretty cool but any real testimonies would be great.
Also, what is Sanbon like to live in? I see its about 40 minutes from Central Seoul. At the moment i am in Osan city and keen to get out after my contract expires very soon..
Any help on either of these queries would be great.
Thank you. |

Hi,
Sanbon is a place of: high rise apartments and good quality villas; a Pizza Hut, a sort of Skylarks Restaurant called Coco's, and a McDonald's; a quite good Western Bar with many friendly locals and Michael Jordan' pic on its front door; at least 50 ex-pat teachers and a handful of foreigners who work for other sorts of businesses in Greater Seoul and Incheon City; and, a handful of Mormon and Pentecostals doing the ol' missionary thing.
The city also has good hiking and access to other places in Korea. Overalll, it's a darn good place to live in comparison to lots and lots of other cities and villages surrounding major cities of the R.O.K. |

I used to work at YBM Sisa which used to be in the same building as JEL...they were having some problems a few years ago, but they might have sorted their stuff out.
I LOVED living in Sanbon. It's such a cool little town. Plenty of foreigners to hang out with and lots of stuff to do.
Check with some of the other teacher who work there.
I spent some of my best years in Korea in Sanbon. |

Sanbon is a cute and convenient place to live. The neighborhood is very
picturesque with the bordering hills, especially in the summer. And the
air is clean most of the time. If you like to devour pork, then this is the
place to be, for there are many restaurants serving good quality pig. I
must say that I found the locals very friendly when I lived there last year.
One problem is the housing, though. There are only two buildings that
provide high quality studio apartments in Sanbon. These are very dear to
lease, so there is just one or two foreign teachers residing in them. Many
other teachers live in places with poor conditions. So before you sign the
contract ask if you can see your accommodation first. All the best. |
