I've been here about one month. I have a D-2 visa and I'm told I can work up to 20 hours a week legally, but trying to verify this before I post a flyer for tutoring here at my school.

But... if I stay past the end of my student exchange (June) I'd like to find something other than teaching to do, if possible, and I'll have a master's in Public Administration.

What is the likelyhood of finding work other than teaching? I have some writing/journalism experience, but my most recent job experience was as a program coordinator for short-term intensive ESL programs through my home university (though I never did any teaching. I scheduled the teachers, coordinated transportation, organized special events, even did some recruiting, etc).

On a different topic, I'm new to the board and wanted to say hi to everyone. Very Happy

Thanks in advance for any thoughts.

Welcome to the board!

I think the easiest job for you to get would be in teaching, yet you cannot legally teach in a hagwon until you have a BA.

Other jobs are available but are usually found through connections.

Someone at your school may have some good advice.

I hope you enjoy Korea.

Thanks!

Already have a BA. Finishing up my M.P.A. I've been doing a litle bit of networking, but no luck so far. Even applied for a couple administrative-type jobs I found on sites like Seoul Help Center for Foreigners, but turned out they wanted Koreans (So why did they post on a site for Foreigners???)...

Anyway, gonna keep at it. Thanks!
