Have been offered a job through this recruiter at Anseong HS in Korea. Would be grateful for any comments or information on either. Also, any recommendations for schools in Korea would be appreciated. I am not looking to get rich, just want to teach overseas. |

Yeah, I'm giving Park English a go too. I've read some alright stuff about them here... any more opinions?
I'm looking for myself and thinking about using a recruiter... either way I hope it works out alright. |

I am considering trying to get a job through Park English Recruitment. I found this thread. Its kinda old, so just wondering if anyone has any recent info on them. Good company? How did the jobs end up? Were they more upfront than not? You know, the usual questions...
Thanks. |

I'm also interested in anyone who has dealt with Park Recruiting. They seem nice, and I know I've seen more about them in this forum but can't seem to find it in my searches. Any help would be appreciated. |

I've been dealing with Cessilia the last week or so and she seems pretty genuine.

By a thousand dollars, do you mean WE pay her, or do the schools she recruits for pay her? General question: Do most recruiters charge a large fee? I'm confused by this whole recruiter thing, frankly... |

Recruiters usually don't work for the hakwon that you're place in. They're employees of either a recruiting firm or they are freelance recruiters contracted out by individual hakwons. They do, indeed receive a large fee for placing a foreign teacher in a school. They also can be very shady at times, and usually do not have the best interests of the teacher in mind. Don't get me wrong, there are a few (and I do mean few) non-evil recruiters out there, but most of them simply care about getting paid for placing you anywhere they'll get the most money. |

Thank you for clarifying my question.
I think I am going to give Park English a go. I sent Cessilia Park a few detailed questions, and her replies, rather tellingly, were clear, concise, and written in proper English. I do not think that there will be communication difficulties there, which is a good start (I have also been in contact with a Korean agency; they have been friendly, but a bit vague...I am considering cutting that one loose...they have been calling me in the States twice a week...hmmm...)
In brief, Cessilia places for all sectors and all levels, both public and private. She was willing to send photos and testimonials upon request. She has behaved very professionally so far, and the website is well-maintained. The company is North American registered, BTW.
I don't know if this helps. I am willing to take a "roll of the dice" on this one, and if it turns out badly, well, it is only one year out of many in a lifetime... |
