I've e-mailed back and forth with that guy (Jiyan). He was the one who got me started with posting videos on the web, actually -- or at least told me about Windows Media Encoder.

I have talked to Jiyan too, and his videos helped me get pumped up to come here. They also inspired me to do my own videos. It's amateur, but I think there are some moments of genious in it, like his portrayal of culture shock and the moment where we're introduced to his girlfriend. And the whole karaoke on the bus part still makes me laugh.

Admittedly, I have implemented the "Kid Bowling" idea in my classes.

Supposedly the "Miguk" film has gotten some film festival recognition.

Noone ever built a monument to a critic. I thought it was a good personal look at a year teaching in a haggie here.

I thought it was pretty good.

Some parts were a little boring but still a good look at a year in the life.

At least he realized teaching wasn't for him and got out on good terms with everyone, or so it seems.

Thumbs up.

All you'll get from strangers is surface pleasantry or indifference. Only someone who loves you will criticize you.

And I wasn't commenting on the movie, but responding to jaganath69's pithy remark on critics... Very Happy

Just an FYI, but at one point there was some talk of some of the video files containing a virus. http://www.eslcafe.com/forums/korea/viewtopic.php?t=1471

But I'll let Seoulchat act as the guinea pig for determining that.
