I heard there is a Walmart in the general Kangnam area.

Any help of how to find it will be greatly appreciated. Like which station is the closest, and if I have to take a taxi, where shall I catch it?

Ditto that. It's a waste of time. I find better stuff at Home Plus or Carrefor (sp?). I've heard the ones further out (like Ilsan) are much better. If you're going to go out of your way to go to Wal-Mart, go there instead.

I third that notion. If you live near there, go for it, but there is precious little you can get there that you can't get at Carrefour or HomePlus or LotteMart or Emart.

for the same reason that cocker spaniel (c o c ker spaniel) is beeped. It doesn't matter if it is part of another word -- all the swearwords are beeped. It's annoying and amusing at the same time.

So get off at Yeoksam Station and get in a taxi?

I think there is one in Bucheon too. I am sure I passed by it once on a bus. If anyone knows where that one is, I would also like to know that.

It's a short(er) walk from the Seoulleung station.

Get off at the station, check the exit maps. Find the Gaenari apartments on the map and head for that. The picture makes it look like a huge walmart but it's a couple dinky floors in the basement.

Correct.

The Gangnam Walmart is not too great though.

I always liked the Walmart....but I guess that explains why in 8 months of doing my regular weekly shopping there, I NEVER saw another foreigner! The rest of you hate it....I dont' understand???

Sure, there's not much else there than what is in the other big supermarkets, but if you are living in Gangnam, there really AREN'T many other places (E-mart, Carefour, etc) so it leaves Walmart as the only option, besides Hyundai, Galleria, etc.

They do have good bread, and great onion bagels there. Oh, and good bacon and sausages (imported and reasonably priced). Good tinned food, imported, and much cheaper than other places (beans, Campbells soup), and a fantastic, cheap wine selection.

Aside from food, the upstairs part is severly lacking, I agree with that.
