Hello,
I am thinking of taking a contract with a school in Ulsan. It is run by a guy: he sounds like a great guy talked to him a couple of times. I have negotaited a contract with them which I think is quite sound but cant find out much about the school or the area.
Does anyone know anything about the area - Ulsan?
Any info about the area would also be much appreciated!

Ulsan is a reasonably large provincial city with a population of just over a million people. It's a highly industrialised city and the home of Hyundai industries. It has its good points and bad points, but we spent three years there and enjoyed it. Have a look at: http://www.theulsanweb.com/, its a good site to find out a little more about Ulsan. |

To those who believve what you can't see can hurt you Ulsan is polluted. Because it's got lots of industry.
I've worked in Seoul, Chunchon, Kwangju, Cheonan, etc. but Ulsan is the best place so far and because it has the sea nearby, as well as mountains. You've got beaches all along the coast here running up and down the east side of Korea. And it's 35km north of Pusan, K's second largest city.
Re; air pollution I don't notice it that much, if at all. A year or two won't kill you! |

I heard from the new guy up here in Seoul that, though it looks like it on the map, Ulsan isn't actually seaside, but inland. I miss the water so next year I'm looking for Busan/Pohang/Gwanju etc....anybody know anything about the smaller towns in the northwest by the West Sea? |

Parts of Ulsan are on the seaside. But the main part is far from the sea. |
