Hi there, I've read most of the other threads about original documents, but I think I've just thoroughly confused myself as I'm no closer to understanding what is required in my own situation.
My current job ends on Aug 31st, and I am beginning a new job on Sept 1st, in a different province.
I got back this morning from my seven days vacation. While I was at home I applied for and got a new E-2 Visa in my passport from the Korean embassy in NZ.
My next employer is asking me for original documents. I don't think I have to supply these to my employer. Is this correct? They also want an original Police criminal conviction check. (They currently have a copy of the one I got done before coming to Korea). Is this for an employer to request, or Immigration, or both?
Willl I still need to give the originals of University documents to the Immigration Department here? I only have notarised copies from about 3 years ago, and would rather not go through the expense and hassle of having to arrange originals from my University, if it's not absolutely essential.
Please advise,

I am confused...
You HAVE your new E2 affixed to/in your passport now? Dated this month and expires sometime in November? When you entered after your holiday they stamped your NEW E2 visa with the entry stamp?
If that answer is yes, then the requests are simply for your employer's benefit.
If you do NOT have a new E2 in your passport and your employer is going through the application process then they will need (for immigration):
SEALED university transcript
Korean Embassy confirmed / notarized copy of your degree
Copy of your passport information pages
2 passport sized photos / digital prints are OK
copy of your resume.
Everything else is for your employers benefit and NOT an immigration requirement. |

Yes, the new E-2 Visa for my next job is in my passport, issued on Aug 14, and the final entry date is listed as 14 November.
When I arrived from NZ yesterday the Immigration guy stamped the new E-2 Visa with a pink 'Admitted' stamp, and took away my ARC, leaving me without one for the remainder of my current job (which I find a bit worrying). |

no worry about your ARC... you are on a new visa so you have to get a new ARC. Technically you are working for your new boss now...not your old one. |
