It's bizzare in life how once you finally get the things you want then you don't want them anymore. For instance, when I came to korea I wanted to be at a school with other foreign teachers so I signed a contract for one in incheon. However suprise, suprise I was lied to by recuriter and ended up by myself in bucheon.

Well at first I was really upset by the whole thing, but and the situation has kind of grown on me. Now 2 and half months into my stay in korea I find that I'm being moved to incheon to the school with other teachers and I'm actually really upset to be moving..

Anyone got any tips on how to survive having deal with those crazy expats on daily basis?

CLG

Well, I've got a coworker at my school, but we don't communicate...at all. Bipolar personalities, I guess?

The way I see it, since you're overseas and limited as to the number of foreigners you can meet, your foreign friends usually have a much livelier spectrum of...interesting...personalities than they'd have back home. So you might find yourself going out for kalbi/bibimbap or going to the movies with someone you'd never hang around with in a million years back home.

Not saying you will flat-out never meet anybody cool, but that, instead, you'll meet people with radically different tastes, i.e., I don't really like watching sports, but I always end up hanging around sports fanatics, thusly getting into it.

I had the same experience as you only in reverse. At first I was really eager to meet people that I wouldn't ordinarily hang out with. however as time went by and the job became more stressful I stopped hanging out with the foreign teachers. I got tired of all the whining. I was sympathetic, I had the same gripes, but I needed to let them go instead of fanning the flames. So, Zyz is right, you'll meet a more diverse set of personalities but you may or may not get anything out of it. That's up to you. Being able to commiserate about certain homesick ailments is a huge bonus though. good luck!

that sucks that they're moving away from the school, when I know that you love working there. Also, you would have gotten used to everything at that school. Does this mean you are moving to Incheon?

Do what you do best and stuff 'em. If they are good people you will soon be able to pick up on it, if not, do the "lone ranger" thing that many of us adopt here.
Try not to get suckered into the whiny b/s that flows through many of the multi-foreigner places. Listen, learn, survive and enjoy.

Still crazy, still here.
