It's probably local to that PC bang, not a national thing. I can't check my email from work because the filter software they use doesn't like the site. |

I've been able to access rotten dot com a number of times in Korea, though at certain PC bangs it comes up blocked.
I have no problem with a pc bang deciding that they don't wanna host a site that features autopsy shots and links to porn. |

Ijust checked the link you posted, IG, and it seemed to go where you'd like it to go. Must be something in your pc bang. |

This forum was blocked in a PC room I went to once. Along with pretty much any other English site. |

It's you.
They've figured out that you are a supporter of Kim Jong Il. |

I can't get to fark.com from here in my school. All I get is
http://clean.megapass.net
I used to use clickcop.com to get around the block, but it's just too much trouble so I've just been doing without fark for the year. |

Except that it is likely that pc bang didn't decide that until one of the shots featured a Korean. |

Sometimes the blocker is specific to the type of browser. Try downloading Opera or Firefox, then go to the site. |

Clearly with annoying pop-ups cluttering my screen almost every time i sit down at a public computer, accessing porn is NOT a problem in most PC Bangs. The authorities mind you ARE working on ways to discourage access, or for that matter more closely monitor & database info. on exactly who visits certain "sites".
From what i recall, the rotten.com link was re: a research matter i was pursuing the other night on the mysterious death of Pope Paul I. Had to seek alternative means / cyber-avenues in order to satisfy my intellectual curiosity.
Thanks everyone for your insight. |
