It sounds wrong to say this but perhaps he is mentally disabled? This is very strange if he isn't. |

Was thinking the same thing. Something's not quite right with the kid.
Still, on the whole not quite as invasive as dong-chim, or a surprise inspection at 11:30pm by the landlady. |

I think he was "copping a feel" off one of the furry foreigners - and laughing all the while.
Perhaps I am self-conscious - being of the furry persuasion.

13 is a bit old but my 8 year olds like to grab at my chest hair. |

Definitely something not right with him, if he's that age. I think you handled it well. Getting overly upset wouldn't have helped, and doing nothing wouldn't have been appropriate either.
I'd just like to say that the people who ride the elevator in my building are some of the most courteous, friendly and good-natured Koreans I've ever met -- including the children. Your post makes me feel that much more appreciative of my lovely neighbours! |

Yeah, I think this is quite normal behaviour for Korean guys of all ages. Take my own example, when I was in Suwon last summer I was taking a taxi ride home, just a short 1-2 minute ride from my old school. I was sitting in the front passenger side and the driver commented on my legs having hair on them (I was wearing shorts) and then in English he asked me "Hair everywhere" and he pointed to my chest and tried to feel down my shirt has he was driving. And I said, "yep, just a bit", then he quickly reached down and attempted to grope my *beep* as he said "Here too?". And I was like, "Whoa, that's ok, Yogi oh". No boundaries with these guys at all. Was he mentally handicapped? Nope, I tell my friends, just a Korean man. |

You should have held out for dinner and drinks. When you go cheap like that, it just ruins it for the rest of us. |
