I found a couple of used furniture places in Yongin, where the old Wal-Mart used to be. Nice, clean stuff with decent prices and delivery. You don't get delivery dumpster diving.

Good luck.

You just made my day! Very Happy

However, that Used Town seems to be the place where all the theives in Korea take their ill-gotten wares.

Thanks, mate.

Beautiful Store is a great place to get next-to-nothing prices. I'll be scouting out a few locations for kitchen gear and accessories.

I know nearly everyone on these forums seems to live in Seoul, but does anyone know about any second hand stores in Ulsan? Thanks!

I love shopping...in the local dumpster. If it's free, it's for me.

Can you find decent furniture in dumpsters? I never see anything but trash outside my building.

Heck yes! I've found some great furniture out there. I have a table and 2 chairs that are very good quality and were very clean. I also have two great dressers from the dumpster. I've seen really nice closet and dresser sets out there, too. There's a neat leather couch out there right now without any markings or tears. Maybe what you find just depends on where you live.

Wow! That's amazing. I guess I've been looking in all the wrong places.

Get a friend. Walk down the alleys late at night or try to gain access to dumpster areas in large apt. complexes.

A few years ago in Bundang, a coworker and I got set up with everything from large tv's to dvd players, traditional Korean vases and even heaps of ESL material. I love it. I haven't paid for a single thing I own right now, except for a used sofa which smells like an ajoshi died in it.

No, I think he was trying to create a safe breathing zone from the fan and he suffocated.

Anybody would know a second-hand place in Incheon?

I just got here and don't have Korean friends yet, so I'm pretty much on my own for stuff like that!

Thanks!
